🎟️ Widespread Show Cancellations Across Cities
The release witnessed major disruptions, especially in metro regions like Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. Several cinema chains reportedly cancelled or postponed early evening shows due to last-minute issues.
IMAX screenings were taken offline in multiple locations
Theatres such as Miraj, Wave, Cinepolis, Moviemax, and select INOX properties cancelled early shows
Even some PVR multiplexes faced partial cancellations
In Mumbai, iconic cinema Gaiety Galaxy saw large crowds gathering outside as scheduled screenings failed to start on time. Theatre staff advised viewers to opt for later shows as delays continued.
According to theatre officials, the delay was partly caused by last-minute edits made after certification requirements, along with technical processes like film downloading and KDM (Key Delivery Message) activation.
⚠️ South India Shows Hit by Content Issues
The situation was particularly challenging in southern markets, where many non-Hindi screenings were cancelled abruptly.
Cinema operators cited the non-availability of finalized dubbed versions as the primary reason. Audiences who had booked tickets for Tamil and Telugu versions were left disappointed.
Trade experts indicated that while the Hindi version was ready, dubbed versions were still undergoing final technical adjustments, including sound corrections and edits. As a result, only the Hindi version could be distributed in time for initial previews.
Theatre owners in cities like Chennai confirmed that they did not receive the required content before scheduled screenings, forcing them to cancel shows and issue public apologies.
