BRS Leader Chintalapati Madhu Murder Case Shocks Suryapet

Suryapet, Telangana — Chintalapati Madhu, a former sarpanch-level leader associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), was found murdered in Telangana’s Suryapet district, prompting a large-scale police investigation and political reactions across the region.

According to police officials, Madhu’s body was discovered inside gunny bags near Yerkaram village under the jurisdiction of the Suryapet Rural Police Station. Authorities stated that the body had multiple sharp weapon injuries and was recovered near an SRSP canal.

Police suspect the murder may be linked to old faction rivalry and personal disputes. Officials noted that Madhu had earlier been named as an accused in the 2007 murder case of former sarpanch M. Ravinder, although he was later acquitted by the court. Investigators are examining whether past rivalries could have contributed to the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Madhu was allegedly invited to a gathering at a house in Tallagadda near Suryapet. Police believe he was later attacked by a group of individuals using sharp weapons. His body was reportedly transported in a vehicle before being abandoned near his native village.

Suryapet police have formed special investigation teams to identify and trace the accused. Reports indicate that several suspects are currently being questioned in connection with the case.

The murder has triggered political reactions in Telangana. Senior BRS leaders, including former minister G. Jagadish Reddy, visited Madhu’s family and expressed concern over the incident. Heavy police deployment was arranged in Yerkaram village as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details will be confirmed after forensic examination and questioning of suspects.
