DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Reviews Security Arrangements at Kud, Interacts with Tourists and Trader
Udhampur, May 29: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS), on Thursday conducted a comprehensive security review meeting at Police Station Kud to assess the prevailing security situation and arrangements during the ongoing tourist season.
The meeting was attended by SDPO Chenani Sukhbir Singh, SHO Kud Palak Anand, and other police officials. During the review, the DIG assessed security measures, law and order preparedness, and arrangements made for the safety and convenience of tourists and pilgrims visiting the region.
Following the meeting, the DIG visited the Kud market area and interacted with members of the public, traders, transport operators, and tourists. He appealed to citizens to cooperate with police during security checks and urged them to report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.
He also advised tourists and pilgrims to dial 112 for any emergency assistance and said that Jammu and Kashmir Police remains committed to ensuring their safety and security.
The DIG urged hoteliers, taxi operators, shopkeepers, and other stakeholders associated with the tourism sector to extend support to visitors, guide them properly, and maintain courteous behaviour, stating that hospitality plays an important role in promoting tourism in the region.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining a secure and tourist-friendly environment throughout the ongoing travel season.
