An interim order has reportedly been issued by the Deputy Registrar (DR) of Ward R directing the Secretary and Chairman of the Neighbourhood Society to hand over the keys of the society office to an ad hoc committee comprising three members, including an administrator appointed for the purpose and two members from the society.
Attention is now focused on whether the former office bearers will comply with the order and facilitate the handover of the office premises.
According to members associated with the new arrangement, access to the society office has remained restricted on multiple occasions in the past, leading to concerns regarding administrative functioning and continuity of services.
Residents have also raised concerns about delays in the management of essential services, including garbage collection and security arrangements. Some members have alleged that administrative transitions have not yet been completed, although these claims could not be independently verified.
If the handover of keys does not take place, further action may depend on directions issued by the Deputy Registrar’s office in accordance with applicable regulations.
