On the other hand, Secretary Rubio underscored the strategic importance of the partnership for both nations, stating, “We are two countries with aligned strategic interests focused on ensuring reliable and long-term access to critical minerals essential for our innovation-driven economy. As of 2023, China has tightened its grip on the export of several critical minerals, significantly impacting global supply chains.
