Guwahati: Indian Forest Service officer Dr. Sonali Ghosh, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Assam, who has been serving as Field Director of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, has been transferred to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area and assigned additional charge as Field Director of Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve.

According to an Assam Government notification issued by the Forest Department, Dr. Ghosh will assume her new responsibilities in the BTC area while also overseeing Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve.

The notification further stated that Dr. C. Ramesh, IFS, currently serving as Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director of Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve, has been appointed as the new Field Director of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.

Dr. Sonali Ghosh took charge as Field Director of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on March 31, 2023, and has overseen various conservation and management initiatives during her tenure.

The transfer and new postings are part of the Assam Government’s administrative reshuffle within the Forest Department.
