Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu:

Women and residents of Iruthukottai village near Tenkanikottai in Krishnagiri district staged a protest on June 25 demanding the closure or relocation of a TASMAC liquor shop operating in the area.

According to the protesters, the liquor outlet has allegedly created disturbances in the locality and raised concerns regarding public safety, particularly for women. Residents claimed that incidents involving intoxicated individuals have caused inconvenience and fear among people living nearby.

Villagers gathered together and conducted a continuous protest demanding immediate action from the authorities regarding the functioning of the liquor shop.

The protest was reportedly supported by local social organisations and residents from surrounding areas.

Protesters urged the Tamil Nadu government and district administration to review the location of the TASMAC outlet and take steps to address public concerns.
