Sani Welfare Foundation “Hunger Has No Religion” Initiative at Gandhi Hospital Amid Rising Global Food Crisis
SECUNDERABAD, TELANGANA — Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, the Sani Welfare Foundation successfully completed Day 5000
+ of its flagship daily food distribution program, “Hunger Has No Religion,” earlier today near Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.
The initiative, which focuses on providing free, nutritious, and dignified meals to underprivileged and needy individuals, continues its unbroken daily streak of serving humanity without distinction of caste, creed, or faith. Founded on the core philosophy that basic human survival transcends all social divisions, the daily drive serves hundreds of patients’ relatives, daily wage laborers, and destitute individuals in the hospital vicinity every single day.
Ground-Level Action Against a Growing Global Crisis
The critical milestone achieved by the foundation aligns directly with the United Nations and World Health Organization (WHO) Sustainable Development Goal 2, which aims to create a world free of hunger by 2030. The urgency of local initiatives like “Hunger Has No Religion” has never been greater:
• Alarming Global Trends: The issue of global hunger and food insecurity has shown an alarming increase since 2015, a trend heavily exacerbated by pandemics, conflicts, climate change, and deepening inequalities.
• The Scale of the Problem: Statistically, an estimated 8.2%—or 1 in 12 people—of the global population face active hunger. Furthermore, about 28% (nearly 2.3 billion people) are moderately or severely food insecure.
• A Stagnant Crisis: Global hunger levels have remained stubbornly high for three consecutive years after a sharp rise during the pandemic.
In this bleak global landscape, the daily efforts at Gandhi Hospital provide a vital frontline defence against a growing crisis, transforming abstract global statistics into real, life-saving nutrition for the community.
A Legacy of Dignity
Speaking on the milestone, the foundation’s organizers reiterated their core mission:
“Appne Liye Tho Sabhi Jeete Hai, Dusro Ke Liye Jeekar Dekho Zindagi Kamyab Lagne Lagai Gi” (Everyone lives for themselves; try living for others and see how successful life feels).
The Sani Welfare Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to its volunteers, donors, and the local community whose consistent backing ensures that no one in the area has to go to sleep on an empty stomach.
