New Delhi, May 28: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor-politician Vijay met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday during his visit to the national capital.
According to reports, the meeting lasted for around 25 minutes. During the interaction, Vijay reportedly thanked the Prime Minister for facilitating the return of Chola-era copper plate inscriptions from Poland to India. He also discussed issues related to the proposed Mekedatu dam project announced by Karnataka and its possible impact on downstream regions of Tamil Nadu.
Reports further stated that Vijay requested consideration for allowing the Tamil Nadu State Anthem to be sung at the beginning of official state government functions.
Following the meeting, Vijay arrived at Tamil Nadu House, where he received a formal welcome. This visit is being seen as one of Vijay’s significant political engagements in New Delhi after the launch of his political activities in Tamil Nadu.
As part of his Delhi schedule, Vijay is also expected to meet several national political leaders, including senior Union ministers and opposition leaders. Political observers are closely watching these meetings, viewing them as part of Vijay’s efforts to strengthen his political presence at the national level.
Posters featuring Vijay alongside national political leaders were also reportedly seen near parts of New Delhi ahead of the meetings, drawing attention from supporters and political circles.
