Ahmedabad Air India Crash: Families Demand Black Box Data Release, Write to PM for Transparency
Ahmedabad, April 6 – IPU Media Update News: It has been over 10 months since the Air India flight tragedy occurred in Ahmedabad. The affected families are demanding the disclosure of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) the “Black Box” data—which is considered crucial to the investigation of this incident. Furthermore, they are refusing to accept the monetary compensation being offered to them.
The families have written a letter to Prime Minister Modi, urging the Central Government to release the Black Box data. This tragic air crash, which claimed the lives of 260 people, resulted in numerous families losing their loved ones. On Saturday, 30 members representing the affected families gathered in Ahmedabad.
The horrific air crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, shook the entire nation. With hundreds of lives lost in this incident, the affected families are now seeking justice. On June 12( 2025) of last year, Air India Flight AI 171, which had departed from Ahmedabad bound for London, crashed shortly after takeoff. In this tragic incident, 241 passengers on board the aircraft, along with 19 people on the ground, lost their lives. This accident, which claimed a total of 260 lives, has plunged the entire nation into grief.

The affected families are strongly demanding that the truth regarding this incident be brought to light. They believe that releasing the data from the aircraft’s Cockpit Voice Recorder and Black Box would likely reveal the actual cause of the accident.
