New Delhi: In the Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliament Dr. Ajit Gopchade raised a significant issue concerning the future of the country’s youth. He urged the central government to expand the PM SETU scheme, which is currently limited to cities like Nagpur, Pune, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, to other districts across Maharashtra.
He also strongly demanded the introduction of modern Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based courses in all ITI institutions across the country. He emphasized that equipping youth with advanced technological skills would significantly enhance their employment opportunities.
Responding to the query, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary stated that the central government has already introduced several modern courses in many ITIs. These include:

👉 Basics of Artificial Intelligence
👉 Basics of Cyber Security
👉 Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
He further added that if state governments submit proposals, the केंद्र सरकार is fully prepared to introduce AI and other advanced technology courses in ITIs.
This positive response has created hope for students in rural areas, as it may open new pathways for careers in AI and emerging technologies. In the coming years, rural youth are expected to gain access to high-quality skill training and better employment opportunities.
