No exception Odisha witnessed an acute shortage of LPG cylinders, not only affecting every household but also causing most vendors are going to stop selling the popular street food Dahi Vada Aloo Dum, even in the capital city Bhubaneswar. Earthen stoves are their only hope as they have started going to nearby villages for preparation. However, the problem does not stop there. Collecting wood has been a tough task for them due to government restrictions and the fear of a shortage of stockpiles, as they also have to cook for themselves. Agasti Pradhan, one of the leading street vendors, says that for the last five days, he has been selling in the morning and evening, and now he has started working as a cook in the house of a local resident to support his family. He urged government to lower the price of commercial LPG , so that he can manage his selling without increasing the price of items which might affect the footfalls to his stall. Otherwise he needs to close his stall for indefinite period which may visibly affect his livelihood.
