Mumbai, April 12, IPU Media Update News: Legendary singer Asha Bhosle (92) who has shone brightly in the world of Indian film music for decades with her mesmerizing voice fell severely ill on Saturday. Following a heart attack, she was immediately rushed to the renowned Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Reports indicate that she is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital.
According to hospital sources, Asha Bhosle is receiving treatment under the supervision of prominent physician Dr. Pratit Samdani. Her family members are currently present at the hospital. Upon learning of this news, music lovers and film celebrities across the globe are offering prayers for her speedy recovery. Asha Bhosle, who entered the music world as the sister of the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, carved a niche for herself with her own unique style. Having begun her journey in the 1950s, she has sung thousands of songs throughout her career. She gained recognition with the 1952 film ‘Sangdil’
and subsequently captured the attention of top-tier directors with films such as ‘Parineeta’ and ‘Boot Polish’.
Songs she sang in collaboration with Mohammed Rafi such as “Maang Ke Saath Tumhara,” “Saathi Haath Badhana,” and “Uden Jab Jab Zulfein Teri” remain evergreen hits to this day. Furthermore, the songs Asha Bhosle sang under the music direction of R.D. Burman set a distinct trend in the industry.
