Assam’s Bokakhat seat will have 212 polling stations, including 46 women-run booths.
On April 9, the general election to the Assam Legislative Assembly will be held across the entire state of Assam in a single phase. For this, voting will take place in 212 polling stations under the 105 Bokakhat Assembly Constituency. Out of these, 46 polling stations will be managed entirely by women, as informed by the administration.
This time, a total of 164,648 voters will cast their votes in the Bokakhat constituency. Among them, 79,952 are male voters, 84,695 are female voters, and there is one voter from the third gender. To ensure smooth conduct of the polling process, the 105 Bokakhat constituency has already been divided into 7 zones and 18 sectors.
Additionally, for proper management of the election process, 7 zonal officers, 18 sector officers, along with presiding officers, first polling officers, second polling officers, and third polling officers — altogether about 1,060 officials — have been appointed.
