The state assembly elections of Assam are approaching, and against this backdrop, various political parties have begun employing different strategies to attract voters. The ruling parties are offering multiple beneficiary and welfare schemes. On March 14, in the 105th Assembly Constituency, Cabinet Minister and Bokakhat MLA Atul Bora participated in such public programs.

In the morning, the minister attended a land patta distribution program at Bokakhat Tea Estate Club, where 516 workers received digital land settlement pattas, and at Rongamati Tea Estate’s Jagannath Community Hall, 210 workers were formally handed pattas. While distributing the pattas, Minister Bora remarked that if the Congress party, which had been in power for a long time, had worked for the holistic development of the tea community like the present government, then this community would have progressed like other communities. He added that due to Congress’s negligence, the tea community has comparatively lagged behind.

On the same day, he laid the foundation stone for erosion control and riverbank protection works at Gelabil River in Golong Teme, for a road from N Pathar to Numaligarh Block village under Numaligarh Refinery’s CSR initiative, and for the development of Rajabari Regional Drama Theatre under the MLA’s Untied Fund.

In the afternoon, at Bokakhat Higher Secondary School’s open stage, he distributed cheques under the Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme and handed out 256 ration cards. Notably, under the National Food Security Act, 2013, a total of 4,000 new beneficiaries from Bokakhat subdivision have been included from today, of which 256 received ration cards at this event.

Additionally, Minister Bora laid foundation stones for the development of the Gorkha Community Hall at Ward No. 2 in Bokakhat, Ratnanath Road under Numaligarh Refinery’s CSR initiative, Gadadhar Singha Community Hall at Difolu Pathar Ahom village under Pub Kaziranga Gaon Panchayat, and inaugurated the construction of the Tai Ahom Maidam Me-phi House.

The events were attended by Bokakhat Sub-Divisional Officer Shivani Jarnagal, Golaghat Additional Deputy Commissioner Debahuti Deka, Assistant Commissioner Shubhajit Khaound, Golaghat Zilla Parishad Chairperson Purnima Das, Bokakhat Municipal Board Chairman Ratneswar Baruah, along with beneficiaries and invited guests from various places.
