BJP Identified as “Ideological Enemy”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Reaffirms Independence; Dismisses Speculative Alliance with BJP-led NDA
CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU — In response to escalating media speculation regarding potential electoral tie-ups, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) officially clarified today that the party remains steadfast in its decision to contest the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections independently.
The party leadership has categorically dismissed reports of a pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as “baseless rumours” and “diversionary tactics” aimed at undermining the party’s unique political identity.
BJP Identified as “Ideological Enemy”
Speaking on the party’s stance, TVK Joint General Secretary C T R Nirmal Kumar stated that there is no room for an alliance with the BJP, labeling the party as TVK’s “ideological enemy.” “Our ideology is rooted in secular social justice and the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu. We have already made it clear that the BJP’s right-wing politics is fundamentally at odds with our vision. Any suggestion of a tie-up is a complete fabrication,” Nirmal Kumar told reporters.
Response to Political Speculation
The statement follows a period of intense speculation triggered by internal assessments within TVK. While reports surfaced that some district secretaries initially viewed an alliance as a means to consolidate strength, the party high command has reaffirmed its commitment to a solo path.
Addressing these claims, state BJP chief Nainar Nagenthran also maintained that his party is not in talks with TVK, dismissing the narrative as gossip and stating that the BJP remains focused on state-level public issues and governance failures of the ruling party.
Vision for 2026
TVK reiterates that its primary objective is the 2026 Assembly Election, with a focus on:
• Secular Social Justice: Upholding the inclusive values of Tamil Nadu.
• Systemic Change: Challenging the established political duopoly.
• Youth Empowerment: Building a grassroots movement led by the aspirations of the next generation.
TVK urges its supporters and the general public not to be misled by misinformation and reaffirms its dedication to providing a transparent, independent, and people-centric alternative for Tamil Nadu.
