March.20 – 2026 :
By unveiling 1,111 e-books authored by 796 women writers in a single day, the Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti (All Assam Women Writers’ Association), an organization of Assamese women writers, successfully set a record in World Records India.
With the aim of encouraging Assamese women writers and promoting Assamese literature, the association initiated this historic digital publication drive, inviting women writers to submit their self-authored works. Under the leadership of then-president Suvarna Saikia Bordoloi, the call was met with overwhelming response, as 796 writers from across Assam submitted their e-books. All the e-books were formally released on the same day through a special initiative called Tratree.
It is noteworthy that during the 30th biennial session and Silver Jubilee celebration of the association, held from January 2 to January 5 in Kaliabor, Nagaon district, the grand unveiling took place on the concluding day, January 5. With the cooperation of President Suvarna Saikia Bordoloi, Chief Editor Monomoti Kurmi, and other office bearers, advanced technical arrangements were made to release all 1,111 e-books simultaneously.
This extraordinary achievement enabled the Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti to establish a new record in World Records India at the Kaliabor session.
