Deo is a historic and religious town in Aurangabad, famous for the Deo Sun Temple, one of the oldest temples dedicated to the Sun God (Surya). The temple is believed to be more than 1,000 years old and is an important pilgrimage site for devotees. It is built with large stone blocks and reflects ancient Indian temple architecture.
A unique feature of this temple is that it faces west, while most Sun temples in India face east. This makes the temple architecturally special. The temple becomes especially important during Chhath Puja, when thousands of devotees gather here to offer prayers and Arghya to the Sun God.
People believe that worshipping at the Deo Sun Temple brings good health, prosperity, and fulfillment of wishes. Due to its religious importance and historical value, it is one of the most famous temples in Bihar.
Devotees believe that worshipping here helps remove diseases, problems, and brings prosperity and children.
The temple is built with large stone blocks and its design is sometimes compared with the famous Konark Sun Temple.
