*FCR Accepts Resignation of MTS in Revenue Dept; Questions Raised Over Delay*

Srinagar, Mar 29 : The Financial Commissioner (Revenue), J&K has accepted the resignation of an MTS employee from the Revenue Department, more than a year after the case was forwarded by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the resignation of Ranjeet Singh, son of Surjeet Singh, a resident of Village Kheen, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, has been accepted under Order No. 34 FC(Rev) of 2026 dated 25-03-2026.

The order states that Ranjeet Singh was appointed as MTS in the Revenue Department in District Cadre Udhampur vide Government Order No. 92-JK(REV) of 2021 dated 22.10.2021 and had joined the office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur on 29.10.2021.

It further mentions that the official had tendered his resignation from the post with effect from 26.06.2024 after being selected as Panchayat Secretary in the Rural Development Department, J&K vide Order No. 201-DRDJ of 2024 dated 20.06.2024.

As per the order, the resignation was forwarded by the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur on 27.01.2025 and subsequently recommended by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu on 04.02.2025 for acceptance.

The competent authority, after examining the case under Rule 200 of the J&K Civil Services Regulations, 1956, accepted the resignation and ordered that the official be discharged from government service with effect from 26.06.2024, the date of resignation.

Meanwhile, questions are being raised over the delay in processing the resignation, as the recommendation was forwarded in February 2025 but the final order was issued only on March 25, 2026. It remains unclear whether the official had already joined the new post or was awaiting formal acceptance of his resignation during the intervening period.
