Forest Guard Injured by Own Service Rifle in Kaziranga National Park in Assam.

In Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, forest staff perform their duties tirelessly day and night, often facing threats to their lives. Alongside the danger of wild animal attacks, they also encounter accidents. This morning, in one such accident, a forest guard was injured.
In this unfortunate incident at the Kohora forest range of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, a forest protection force guard was injured by gunfire. According to reports, Lahon Kardong, a guard from the Goraimari forest camp, slipped while on duty along a forest path with fellow guard Dinesh Kardong. As a result, his own service rifle accidentally discharged, causing a bullet injury to his leg.
The seriously injured Lahon Kardong was immediately taken to Beja Vaishnav Memorial Hospital in Kohora. After receiving primary treatment there, he was referred to Jorhat Medical College Hospital for further care. It has been learned that Lahon Kardong hails from Agaratoli area of Bokakhat Co-District, Assam.
