Compared to other protected forests of the country, performing duty in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is particularly challenging for a forest Guard. In Kaziranga, not only do they face wild animals regularly, but sometimes they also fall victim to attacks.
Today, in such an incident, a forest worker was seriously injured in a rhino attack while on duty in the Agoratoli range of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. According to reports, while patrolling with three colleagues in the Arikati forest camp area of Agoratoli, a wild rhino suddenly charged at the team. The three other forest workers managed to escape, but the rhino attacked forest worker Dipen Bora, leaving him seriously injured.
He was immediately taken to Bokakhat Civil Hospital for primary treatment and later referred to Jorhat Medical College for advanced care. Dipen Bora, a resident of Merapani in Golaghat district, was serving as a home guard in the Arikati forest camp of Agoratoli range at the time of the incident.
