Global Healthcare Delegation Explores Innovation Ecosystem at i-Hub Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

i-Hub Gujarat hosted a distinguished international delegation from the HOSPEX India Healthcare Expo, bringing together representatives from Ethiopia, Ghana, Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Qatar, Chad, Morocco, Mozambique, and the UAE, along with members of the Asian-Arab Chamber of Commerce.
The visiting delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with Team i-Hub Gujarat and received an in-depth overview of the institution’s flagship initiatives and structured support ecosystem for startups and innovators. The presentation outlined incubation support, grant facilitation, intellectual property (IP) assistance, regulatory and compliance advisory, access to private funding, co-working infrastructure, and domain-focused mentorship programs.
Mr. Hiranmay Mahanta, CEO, i-Hub Gujarat, highlighted the state’s expanding healthcare innovation landscape across medical devices, biotechnology, medtech, and allied healthcare sectors. He emphasized the organization’s continued efforts in enabling startups through grants for testing and validation, clinical trials support, and sector-driven ecosystem-building initiatives designed to accelerate commercialization and global outreach.
The delegation also interacted with Shri Mukesh Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department (Higher & Technical Education), Government of Gujarat. The meeting reflected a shared commitment toward strengthening higher education, fostering research-driven innovation, and encouraging international collaboration within Gujarat’s knowledge and startup ecosystem.
Ms. Kritika Sharma, Incubation Lead, i-Hub Gujarat, further showcased the organization’s engagement model, detailing how startups are supported from ideation to market entry through policy-backed frameworks and strategic ecosystem interventions.
Notably, more than 15 healthcare and allied sciences startups from Gujarat participated in HOSPEX India, Ahmedabad, presenting cutting-edge innovations and exploring global market linkages. Among them, Mr. Vatsal Dixit, Founder of Metropharm Wellness, and Dr. Karnav Patel, Founder of Salvo, shared their entrepreneurial journeys and experiences with the international delegation, highlighting Gujarat’s growing prominence in healthcare innovation.
The interaction facilitated meaningful dialogue and opened avenues for cross-border knowledge sharing opportunities in the global healthcare innovation landscape.
