This time, the largest deployment of security forces has been made for the West Bengal Assembly elections, and this deployment has been carried out to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful manner. You should know that around 2,400 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed across the state, with a total strength of approximately 240,000 personnel. This number is more than double compared to the previous Assembly elections.
Additional steps have also been taken to further strengthen security. This time, a large number of women paramilitary personnel will also be deployed. Approximately 20,000 women security personnel, which equals around 200 companies, have been stationed across the state.
Such a large deployment of women personnel has been made because the Election Commission, along with various agencies, informed the Home Ministry about the need for more women security forces to enhance voter confidence and to ensure smooth polling operations.
