Residents Flag Garbage Dumping Near Children’s Park in Ward 41 of Hosur; Health Concerns Raised

HOSUR — Residents of Ward No. 41 under the Hosur Municipal Corporation have raised concerns over garbage dumping near a children’s park located along the outer ring road connecting Denkanikottai Road, Railway Station Road, and Rayakottai Main Road.

According to local residents, the park—constructed during the previous AIADMK regime—serves as a public space for morning and evening walkers as well as children who regularly use the facility for play. However, they allege that waste is being dumped in the area outside the park boundary, leading to foul smell and unhygienic conditions.

Residents have further stated that the accumulation of garbage has attracted stray dogs and cattle in the vicinity, creating safety concerns for children, senior citizens, and regular walkers using the park.

Local residents also claimed that despite complaints to sanitation supervisors, the situation has not improved. They allege that some nearby households and workers in the surrounding area, including those from nearby industrial units, may be contributing to improper waste disposal. However, these claims have not been independently verified.

A sanitation official reportedly stated that awareness efforts have been made in the locality regarding proper waste disposal practices.

Residents have urged the municipal corporation to take stricter action to ensure regular cleaning, prevent illegal dumping, and improve sanitation around the public park to maintain public health and safety.
