Hyderabad Reports 343 Drunk Driving Cases Over Weekend Crackdown By Hyderabad Reporter Fairoz Shaikh

Hyderabad: In a strict enforcement drive against drunk driving, the Hyderabad Traffic Police registered a total of 343 cases during the weekend crackdown conducted on March 20 and 21, 2026. Authorities reiterated their strong message — “Say No to Drink and Drive” — emphasizing road safety and public responsibility.
According to official data, the majority of offenders were two-wheeler riders, accounting for 287 cases, followed by 32 four-wheeler drivers and 24 three-wheeler operators. No cases were reported involving heavy vehicles.
Gender-wise statistics revealed that all 343 offenders were male. Age-wise analysis showed that individuals between 21–30 years (117 cases) and 31–40 years (108 cases) formed the highest number of violators, indicating a concerning trend among young and middle-aged drivers.
The Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) report highlighted that 143 individuals recorded levels between 51–100 mg, while 77 cases fell in the 101–150 mg range. Alarmingly, a few offenders recorded BAC levels above 300 mg.
Hyderabad Traffic Police have urged citizens to act responsibly and avoid driving under the influence, warning that strict action will continue against violators to ensure safer roads across the city.
