Security Wing Deploys Advanced Equipment at Yatra Camps Ahead of SANJY-2026

Srinagar, June 7: The Security Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police has strengthened preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 (SANJY) by deploying advanced security equipment at Yatra camps to enhance pilgrim safety during the annual pilgrimage.

According to officials, the Security Wing has been equipped with a range of devices to support access control, surveillance, screening, and anti-sabotage operations. These include metal detectors, explosive detection systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, baggage scanners, vehicle inspection tools, and other specialized security devices.

To assess operational preparedness, a physical inspection and live demonstration of the equipment was conducted at Security Lines Kashmir, Batamaloo, on June 6 under the supervision of IGP Security J&K, Sujit Kumar Singh.

The demonstration was attended by senior security officials, including Rashmi Wazir, Rakesh Kumar, Sajjad Khaliq Bhat, Khalid Amin, and Mohammad Ibrahim.

Officials reviewed the functioning of the equipment and its role in strengthening security arrangements at Yatra locations. The exercise focused on surveillance, screening procedures, access control, and preventive security measures.

The Security Wing stated that preparations are being carried out to facilitate a safe and orderly pilgrimage for devotees participating in the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026. Security agencies continue to coordinate with relevant departments to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for the annual religious event.
