LEAP Labs to be Established in Mysuru Under Karnataka Government Startup and Innovation Programme

Mysuru, March 2026:
Mysuru is set to receive a new technology and startup incubation facility as part of the Karnataka government’s Local Economy Accelerator Programme (LEAP), with plans to establish plug-and-play LEAP Labs in emerging technology clusters including Mysuru, Hubballi, Kalaburagi, and Hoskote.

According to the Karnataka Budget 2026–27 highlights released by the Department of Finance, the LEAP programme aims to strengthen early-stage entrepreneurship, innovation infrastructure, and industry-academia collaboration across the state. The government stated that plug-and-play LEAP Labs will be developed to provide modern incubation facilities and support for startups in these regions.

Officials said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to decentralize technology growth beyond Bengaluru and promote regional startup ecosystems. The programme also includes accelerator support, mentorship networks, and industry partnerships to help new companies scale from smaller cities.

The LEAP initiative is linked to Karnataka’s larger technology and innovation push, which includes investments in electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and artificial intelligence programmes aimed at expanding the state’s startup ecosystem.

Experts say the proposed LEAP Labs in Mysuru are expected to create opportunities for local entrepreneurs, engineering graduates, and research institutions by providing access to infrastructure, funding guidance, and incubation support within the region.

With Mysuru already identified as a growing IT and education hub, the addition of LEAP Labs is expected to strengthen the city’s position as an emerging centre for technology, startups, and innovation in Karnataka.
