Asha’s son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed to ANI that the legendary playback singer succumbed to complications stemming from multi-organ failure after being hospitalized for cardiac and respiratory issues.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday following severe exhaustion and a chest infection. Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, provided updates on her condition, indicating the family’s concern for her health. Her last rites are scheduled to take place on Monday, marking a somber farewell to a woman whose voice has been a significant part of Indian cinema for decades.

Born in 1933, Asha Bhosle’s illustrious career began when she recorded her first film song in 1943. Over the years, she emerged as one of the most prolific playback singers in the history of Indian music, enchanting audiences with her versatility across a myriad of genres.
