Chennai, March 13, IPU Media Update News: V.K. Sasikala—a close confidante of the late former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and former General Secretary of the AIADMK—has founded a new political party. She has named the party ‘All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AIPTMMK)’ She unveiled the name “AIPTM MK” today. It is well known that Sasikala had unveiled the party flag during a meeting held on February 24th of this year in Kamuthi, Ramanathapuram district. A “coconut farm” was announced as the party’s official symbol.
Sasikala is currently 71 years old. Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in Tamil Nadu shortly. She stated that their party symbol serves as a sign of unity. She added that their party would function like a joint family. She announced that their party candidates would contest in the upcoming Assembly elections in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. She remarked that she currently finds herself in the same situation once faced by “our leader” M.G. Ramachandran, noting that M.G. Ramachandran himself had joined a party originally initiated by the cadre. She mentioned that their party flag features the colors black, white, and red. The flag also bears the portraits of former Chief Ministers C.N. Annadurai, M.G. Ramachandran, and Jayalalithaa.
