Attempts To Disintegrate Or Break Up India will Not Succeed, - RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Nagpur, October 20: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that it is a misconception to believe that changing the government will automatically transform the situation in the country. He asserted that the designs of forces attempting to disintegrate India will not succeed. While noting that protests aimed at resolving national issues are a part of democracy, he cautioned that such actions should not lead to hatred or divisions within society.

Speaking at the annual RSS event held in Nagpur on Tuesday to mark Vijayadashami, Bhagwat discussed the organization's activities for its upcoming centenary year, as well as the challenges currently facing the nation. He remarked that the idea that a change in government alone can alter the state of affairs has never held true in the past, and such expectations remain unfounded today.

Bhagwat alleged that certain forces are actively trying to obstruct India’s progress. He observed that because India has been advancing through the policies it has pursued over the last few decades, these forces are now seeking to undermine both the nation and the RSS. He further alleged that some political leaders within the country are also supporting such efforts. Citing developments in nations like France, Albania, Bangladesh, and Nepal, he pointed out that established systems, cultures, and human values are facing challenges across the globe. Bhagwat stated that it is natural for people to stage protests when issues arise in the country. However, he suggested that the objective of such agitations should be to find solutions to these problems. He warned that protests incited for political gain risk escalating tensions and disrupting public life.

He emphasized that no one whether protesters, officials responsible for maintaining law and order, or political leaders should contribute to hatred, animosity, or division within society. He urged that, regardless of how intense emotions may be, all actions must remain within the framework of the Constitution, the law, and social norms.

Bhagwat’s remarks have gained significance against the backdrop of a nationwide debate regarding alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan recently described the protests taking place in Delhi over this issue as a struggle aimed at bringing about a change in government.
