New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has constituted a dedicated team to lead its upcoming Gen Z Outreach Programme, creating a new organisational initiative focused on direct engagement with India's younger generation.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin will head the team, which includes national general secretaries Smriti Irani and Vinod Tawde, Gujarat minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chhattisgarh minister OP Choudhary, along with other leaders.

The initiative is aimed at engaging Gen Z, broadly defined in the party's reported programme as those born between 1997 and 2012, and understanding their aspirations, concerns and expectations. The proposed outreach will provide opportunities for young people to interact directly with BJP leaders and communicate issues that matter to them.

The programme is expected to use interactions, discussions and other engagement activities to establish a more direct and sustained dialogue with young people. The BJP has not yet announced the detailed schedule, format or locations for the outreach.

The new initiative comes as part of the organisational work under Nabin's newly constituted national team. At the team's first meeting, the BJP also discussed strengthening grassroots engagement and its connection with younger voters ahead of upcoming state elections.

The creation of a dedicated national team gives the youth outreach a specific organisational structure rather than leaving it as a general party programme.

Further details on the programme's activities and rollout are expected to be announced by the BJP.
