New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s newly constituted national team will hold its first meeting on Saturday, August 22, in New Delhi, under the leadership of party president Nitin Nabin.

The meeting will bring together the new national office-bearers announced by the BJP on August 17. Party sources cited in reports said Nabin is expected to interact with members of the new team at the party’s extension office.

The new organisational team includes 13 national vice-presidents and 16 national secretaries. Among the national vice-presidents are former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, former Uttarakhand chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijayant Panda and Karnataka’s M Nagaraja.

Smriti Irani and Biplab Kumar Deb are among the eight national general secretaries, while B.L. Santhosh continues as National General Secretary (Organisation). Piyush Goyal has been appointed national treasurer.

Reports have described the August 22 gathering as the first introductory meeting of the newly constituted team. A detailed formal agenda has not been publicly released in the sources reviewed.

The meeting will therefore provide the first collective platform for the new national office-bearers to begin their work under Nabin’s leadership.
