Delhi Jewellery Heist: Thieves Smash Car Window, Steal Gold And Diamond Jewellery Worth Over ₹2 Crore In Karol Bagh

A jewellery businessman was allegedly robbed of gold and diamond ornaments worth more than ₹2 crore after thieves smashed the rear window of his car and stole bags containing the valuables in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area.

According to the complaint, the victim, Kanhaiya Lal, who is associated with SKG Kundan Crafts, had arrived in Delhi on August 18 along with his son Dhruv Soni and a staff member for business-related work.

The group was carrying three backpacks and a suitcase. The backpacks reportedly contained gold and diamond jewellery, a laptop and Aadhaar cards, while the suitcase contained clothes.

Car Parked Outside Karol Bagh Restaurant

On August 19, Lal visited several jewellers in Greater Kailash’s M Block Market for business purposes. Later in the evening, he travelled to Karol Bagh and parked his car on Arya Samaj Road, opposite Canara Bank, at around 5:30 pm.

Lal, his son and the employee then left the bags inside the vehicle and went to a nearby Bikanervala restaurant for dinner.

When they returned at around 7:15 pm, they reportedly discovered that the rear window of the car had been smashed. The three backpacks and suitcase had allegedly been taken from inside the vehicle.

Jewellery Worth Over ₹2 Crore Stolen

The stolen bags reportedly contained gold and diamond jewellery valued at more than ₹2 crore, along with a laptop, Aadhaar cards and other belongings.

Following the complaint, Delhi Police launched an investigation and began examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects. Investigators are also looking into the movements of the businessman and his companions to determine whether they were followed before the theft.

Police teams are working to identify and arrest those involved and recover the stolen jewellery.

The investigation is currently underway, and further details are awaited.
