M.K. Stalin Challenges Kolathur Election Result in Madras High Court

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin has approached the Madras High Court challenging the election of TVK candidate V.S. Babu from the Kolathur Assembly constituency.

Stalin has questioned the declaration by the District Election Officer that the verification process of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was completed successfully.

According to the petition, Stalin's side has alleged that certain irregularities were noticed during the verification of the EVMs. The petition also claims that his representative raised objections regarding certain components of the machines, but those objections were not addressed to his satisfaction.

Demand for EVM and VVPAT Verification

Stalin has sought 100% counting and verification of VVPAT slips and requested examination of all 286 EVMs used in the Kolathur constituency.

The petition raises questions regarding the verification process and seeks judicial examination of the issues raised by the petitioner.

Case Yet to Be Decided

The matter is currently before the Madras High Court, and no final decision has been issued in the case. The allegations and claims made in the petition remain subject to judicial consideration.

The court's proceedings and any directions issued during the case will determine how the objections concerning the EVM and VVPAT verification are addressed.

Until the court reaches a conclusion, the allegations should be treated as claims made by the petitioner and not as established findings.
