FACK SC CERTIFICATE DAY BY DAY INCRISES and UTILISED
Concerns have been raised over the alleged misuse and verification of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates, with some people calling for stricter action to ensure that certificates are issued only to eligible beneficiaries.
SC and ST certificates are issued to eligible members of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities for accessing benefits provided under applicable government policies. However, questions have been raised in some cases regarding the verification of caste certificates and the identification of eligible applicants.
In North Bengal, concerns have also been expressed about difficulties in verifying caste identities and resolving disputes related to community names and titles. Such issues can create challenges for applicants as well as the authorities responsible for certificate verification.
Cases involving alleged fake or improperly obtained certificates should be dealt with through the prescribed administrative and legal procedures. Where a certificate is found to have been obtained fraudulently, the competent authority may take action in accordance with the applicable rules.
People have called for transparent verification procedures and appropriate action against the misuse of SC and ST certificates so that eligible members of the communities are not deprived of their lawful benefits.
