Haridevpur's Bibaswan Bhowmik Wins Gold and Bronze for Team Bengal at 14th National Pencak Silat Championship 2026

Haridevpur resident Bibaswan Bhowmik brought pride to West Bengal by delivering an outstanding performance at the 14th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2026–27, held in Shillong, Meghalaya, from 6th to 8th July 2026.
Representing Pencak Silat Sports Association Bengal (Team Bengal), Bibaswan participated in the championship on behalf of the South Kolkata District Pencak Silat Sports Association. Competing against some of the country's finest athletes in the Masters Category, he showcased exceptional skill, discipline, and determination throughout the tournament.
Bibaswan secured the Gold Medal in the Artistic – Solo Event, impressing the judges with his precision, technique, and graceful performance. He further demonstrated his fighting spirit by winning the Bronze Medal in the highly competitive Tanding (Fight) Event.
Winning two medals at a prestigious national championship is a remarkable achievement and reflects Bibaswan's years of dedication and hard work in the sport of Pencak Silat. His success has brought immense pride not only to Haridevpur and South Kolkata but also to the entire state of West Bengal.
