India Beat West Indies by Eight Wickets in Second ODI, Seal Series 2-0

In men’s cricket, India defeated the West Indies by eight wickets in the second ODI of the three-match series at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Batting first, West Indies posted 405 for seven, their highest ODI total. John Campbell, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo scored centuries for the visitors.

India chased down the target of 406 in 43.3 overs, finishing on 406 for two. Captain Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 223 off 133 balls, while Rohit Sharma scored 101 off 75 balls. Rohit also registered his 35th ODI century.

Gill and Rohit shared a 255-run opening partnership. Gill reached his double century in 117 balls, setting a record for the fastest double century in ODI cricket. He was also named Player of the Match.

India had also won the opening ODI in Thiruvananthapuram by eight wickets. The third and final match of the series is scheduled to be played on Saturday in New Chandigarh.
