GAS BLACK MARKET
Complaints Over Delayed LPG Cylinder Delivery, Consumers Seek Probe Into Alleged Black-Market Sales
LPG cylinders are an essential requirement for households. Some consumers have alleged that despite booking cylinders online and completing the payment, they are not receiving deliveries within the expected time.
According to consumers, online LPG booking facilities are available, but delays in delivery have been reported in some cases. Distributors are reportedly citing a shortage in LPG availability as one of the reasons for the delay.
Some consumers have also alleged that LPG cylinders are being made available through unauthorised channels at higher prices. According to their claims, while the official price is around ₹995, the same cylinder is allegedly being sold in the black market for around ₹1,500. These allegations have not been independently verified.
Consumers have questioned how LPG cylinders can allegedly be available through unauthorised channels when shortages are being reported in the official distribution system. They have urged the concerned authorities to examine the availability and distribution process.
Consumers have also requested the government and concerned authorities to investigate whether any unauthorised sale or alleged black marketing is taking place. If such violations are confirmed, they have sought action against those responsible and demanded timely delivery of LPG cylinders to consumers who have completed online bookings and payments.
