Major Anti-Encroachment Drive at Bela Manohar: Illegal Structure Demolished, Government Land Retrieved

JAMMU, July 15:In a major crackdown on illegal encroachments, the district administration on Tuesday carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment drive at Bela Manohar, demolishing an unauthorised structure and reclaiming valuable government land from illegal occupation.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of senior civil and revenue officials with the assistance of police personnel and other line departments to ensure the smooth execution of the demolition drive. Heavy machinery, including excavators, was pressed into service to remove the illegal construction.

Officials said the encroachment had been raised on government land in violation of law. Following due legal procedure, the administration demolished the structure and restored possession of the land to the government.

The authorities reiterated that the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against illegal encroachments and that strict action will continue against those found occupying or constructing structures on public land without authorisation.

The drive forms part of the administration’s ongoing campaign to protect government property, prevent land grabbing, and ensure that public assets are safeguarded for legitimate public use. Officials also appealed to the public to refrain from encroaching upon government land, warning that violations would invite stringent legal action.

The administration further stated that similar anti-encroachment operations will continue across the district to identify, remove and prevent illegal occupations, while ensuring transparency and adherence to legal procedures throughout the enforcement process.
