Mumbai Airport Customs Arrests Mumbra Resident Over Alleged Smuggling of 12.7 Kg Suspected Hydroponic Cannabis

Mumbai: Mumbai Airport Customs officials have arrested a Mumbra resident for allegedly smuggling around 12.7 kg of suspected hydroponic cannabis from Bangkok to Mumbai.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad Aman Dosani, a resident of Mumbra in Thane. According to Customs officials, Dosani was intercepted at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) after arriving from Bangkok.

Suspected Cannabis Recovered From Trolley Bag

Officials reportedly identified the passenger through passenger profiling and stopped him for further examination after he completed immigration formalities.

During a search of his trolley bag, Customs officials allegedly recovered 13 packets containing suspected hydroponic cannabis, with a total weight of around 12.7 kg.

During questioning, Dosani allegedly claimed that he was unaware of the contents of the bag. He reportedly told officials that the bag had been handed over to him by another person in Bangkok and that he had been asked to deliver it to someone in Mumbai.

Investigation Underway

Customs officials have arrested Dosani and initiated an investigation into the alleged smuggling network. Authorities are also working to identify the person who allegedly handed over the bag to Dosani and the intended recipient in Mumbai.

The case highlights the vigilance of Customs authorities at Mumbai airport in detecting suspected international drug-smuggling activities.
