Namitaa Sachdeva Reflects on Family, Work and Birthday Traditions
Namitaa Sachdeva Reflects on Family, Gratitude and Simple Joys on Her Birthday
Namitaa Sachdeva marked her birthday on August 14 by reflecting on family, gratitude and the simple joys that make the occasion meaningful. The actor and anchor, who is currently performing in Woh Subha Hum Hi Se Aayegi, shared details about her birthday plans, personal rituals and the memories she continues to treasure.
Health Keeps Celebrations Simple
Unlike previous years, Namitaa kept her birthday plans modest this time as she was not feeling well. The actor said she normally plans her celebrations in advance, but this year’s circumstances led her to take a more relaxed approach.
“This year, I was not very well, so I haven’t really planned anything yet,” she said, adding that she hopes to celebrate properly during the following week.
While the celebrations may have been delayed, Namitaa’s enthusiasm for birthdays remains unchanged.
Why She Loves Birthday Parties
Namitaa enjoys celebrating her birthday with music, dancing and the company of people she loves. For her, the occasion offers a chance to step away from the demands of a busy professional life.
“I really enjoy partying on my birthday because you spend every day at home, working,” she explained. “After work, you should party, dance and just have a good time.”
She also enjoys going out for dinner with friends. However, being away from her family is something she feels deeply, as she lives in Mumbai while her sisters reside in Delhi. Her close friends, she said, often fill that emotional space and feel like family.
Blessings Are Part of the Celebration
For Namitaa, a birthday begins with blessings and a spiritual connection. Her annual routine includes visiting a Gurudwara or mandir, seeking blessings from her parents, spiritual guide and mentors, and buying new clothes for the occasion.
Getting dressed up is also an important part of the day. The actor said she prefers to stay cheerful and make an effort to enjoy the occasion rather than spend the day feeling low.
A Dedicated Professional
Namitaa’s commitment to her work remains strong, even on her birthday. She describes herself as a workaholic and believes that working helps her feel productive.
Despite being unwell, she continued with her professional responsibilities and shot on August 14. Her decision reflects the importance she places on balancing personal milestones with career commitments.
Her Most Cherished Birthday Gift
Among the many gifts she has received over the years, one from her parents remains particularly special. Namitaa recalled that her mother once gifted her a car, a gesture she continues to remember fondly.
If given the opportunity to present herself with a gift today, however, she would choose happiness over luxury.
“I would gift myself a lot of smiles,” she said.
According to Namitaa, life is bound to include both difficult and happy moments, but maintaining a positive outlook can help one move through different phases with strength.
At the centre of her birthday memories are her parents and their blessings. Their presence, she believes, is essential to the occasion.
“My birthday is incomplete without them,” Namitaa said.
