Nitin Nabin Addresses BJP Extended State Executive Committee Meeting in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: BJP national president Nitin Nabin is addressing the party's extended State Executive Committee meeting in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday during his first official visit to Andhra Pradesh since taking charge of the party.

More than 2,000 BJP leaders, office-bearers and invitees are expected to participate in the meeting, making it one of the party's largest organisational gatherings in the state in recent years.

Andhra Pradesh's development, investments and irrigation projects are among the key subjects expected to feature in the meeting, with particular attention being given to the Polavaram irrigation project. The state BJP has indicated that a resolution will highlight development and investment received by Andhra Pradesh from the Centre.

Nabin's programme also includes meetings with the state leadership and party representatives. BJP national general secretary (organisation) B. L. Santhosh is accompanying him during the organisational engagements.

The visit comes shortly after the BJP announced its new national team under Nabin, including changes among national office-bearers and key organisational responsibilities.

Nabin and Santhosh are also scheduled to participate in the RSS's three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak in Visakhapatnam from August 19 to 21, alongside representatives of affiliated organisations.

The Andhra Pradesh meetings will therefore bring together the BJP's state-level organisational work, development agenda and national leadership in one programme.

For the party, the immediate focus is on organisational strengthening, development priorities and coordination in Andhra Pradesh.
