Janjgir: For the past month, Janjgir city and the district headquarters have been immersed in a spiritual and festive atmosphere. The celebrations began with Ganesh Chaturthi, when Lord Ganesha idols were installed at several prominent locations across the city. For around seven to ten days, devotees participated in prayers and religious activities, creating an atmosphere of faith and devotion.

Following the Ganesh festival, Durga Puja celebrations began across the city. Beautifully decorated pandals attracted visitors, while people from surrounding rural areas came to experience the religious celebrations and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Fairs, small shops, Mina Bazaar, swings, and other attractions provided entertainment for visitors and seasonal business opportunities for local traders. Children, women, and men spent their evenings and late nights enjoying the festivities and participating in various activities.

Several locations also hosted cultural programmes featuring popular artists, singers, ghazal performers, and qawwali singers. Their performances added to the festive atmosphere and offered visitors an opportunity to enjoy a variety of cultural presentations.

Naila Durga Puja Pandal Draws Public Attention

The Durga Puja pandal in the Naila area of Janjgir emerged as a major attraction because of its decorative arrangements and facilities for visitors. A large number of devotees and visitors came to see the pandal and participate in the celebrations. However, claims about its nationwide or worldwide popularity would require independent confirmation.

The celebrations from Ganesh Chaturthi to Durga Puja brought people together and highlighted the city's religious traditions, cultural activities, and community spirit. The festivals also created opportunities for local businesses and provided entertainment for residents and visitors alike.
