Thane, October 5, 2026: The Thane Ophthalmologist Association (TOA), in collaboration with KIMS Hospital, Thane, successfully concluded its Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, “Day to Day Cornea,” on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Sponsored by ENTOD Pharma, the programme focused on practical, case-based approaches to corneal conditions encountered in everyday clinical practice.

Held at KIMS Hospital from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the CME featured a scientific programme covering clinical assessment, corneal staining, infections, dry eye, postoperative corneal oedema, keratoconus and corneal ectasia.

Dr. Parul Deshpande presented “Red Eye to Red Flag—A Practical Approach to the Corneal Patient,” while Dr. Ameya Inguawle discussed corneal staining. Dr. Somasheila Murthy addressed corneal infections, focusing on what to treat, test and refer, and also discussed decision-making in keratoconus and corneal ectasia, including corneal cross-linking.

Dr. Nikhil Gokhale spoke on “Dry Eye A to Z & Medicamentosa,” and Dr. Vishram Sangit presented “Post-Operative Corneal Oedema: What Am I Missing?” A Rapid Fire Cornea Quiz, conducted by Dr. Prajakta Dandekar, rounded off the scientific agenda.

The programme was organised under the leadership of TOA President Dr. C. M. Wavikar, Secretary Dr. Anupam Deshpande, and Treasurer Dr. Neeta Maske, in association with the KIMS Hospital team.

With its emphasis on everyday clinical challenges, the CME provided a platform for continuing professional education and sharing practical approaches to corneal care. The event concluded with lunch.
