Actor Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is expected to receive one of the widest overseas releases for a Telugu film in Australia. The rural sports action drama is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4.
According to distribution sources, the film will be released across multiple locations of the popular Australian cinema chain Hoyts. The movie is being distributed in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji by Prathyangira Overseas.
Trade observers say the scale of the release reflects the growing international popularity of Telugu cinema and increasing demand for Indian films in overseas markets. Typically, only selected locations screen Telugu releases, but Peddi is reportedly receiving a broader rollout across Australia.
The film stars Janhvi Kapoor opposite Ram Charan, while Kannada actor Shivarajkumar plays a key role. The music has been composed by A. R. Rahman. The project is jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
With the large-scale overseas release announcement, expectations surrounding the film have continued to rise among cinema audiences and industry observers.
