Noida, March 28, IPU Media Update News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Noida International Airport today (Saturday). He will formally launch Phase-1 of the Noida International Airport—developed at a cost of ₹11,200 crore near Jewar in Uttar Pradesh—at 12:00 PM. Union Minister for Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu, several other Union Ministers, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and various senior officials are expected to participate in this event. The airport has been constructed as a multi-modal transport hub, seamlessly integrating with road, rail, metro, and regional transport networks.
Notably, the international airport being inaugurated today in Noida marks the second such facility in the region, following the Indira Gandhi International Airport located in Delhi. This airport is poised to serve as the primary international gateway for major cities across Uttar Pradesh, including Noida, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Mathura, and Agra. Although the inauguration was initially scheduled for December 1, 2024, it was postponed to April 2025 due to various reasons. Subsequently, it was further rescheduled to September 1, 2025. Thus, the inauguration ceremony had faced multiple postponements over time.
In view of the inauguration of the Noida International Airport, authorities have implemented stringent security arrangements. In light of Prime Minister Modi’s visit, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Traffic Police have imposed traffic restrictions. These restrictions will remain in effect from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Government sources anticipate that this airport will play a pivotal role in strengthening aviation infrastructure, as well as in enhancing both regional and international connectivity.
