Mahbubnagar: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday challenged former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) to a public debate comparing the Congress government’s performance over the past 30 months with the BRS government’s decade-long tenure.
Addressing a public meeting in Jadcherla, Revanth Reddy highlighted his government’s achievements, including recruitment to government posts and implementation of welfare schemes. He stated that his government had filled over 67,000 government jobs and spent significant funds on the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
During his speech, Revanth Reddy criticized the BRS leadership and expressed confidence that the Congress would strengthen its position in the Palamuru region. He also responded to the BRS’s proposed campaign regarding the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS), defending his government’s efforts on irrigation projects.
The Chief Minister said the state government was working to secure necessary approvals and water allocations for key irrigation projects, including the PRLIS and Dindi projects. He also urged Telangana BJP leaders to facilitate discussions with the Maharashtra government regarding inter-state water issues.
Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy recently reviewed progress on major irrigation projects in the Palamuru region during their visit to the area.
The BRS has not yet issued a detailed response to the Chief Minister’s remarks.
