NELLORE, ANDHRA PRADESH – In a landmark victory for the legal community, Sattu Ankaiah, a senior advocate and prominent leader of the All India Lawyers Union (AILU), has been elected to the Andhra Pradesh Bar Council. Representing the Nellore district, Mr. Ankaiah’s win marks a significant milestone for advocates advocating for systemic reforms and professional welfare.
With a career spanning 25 years, Mr. Ankaiah has been a tireless champion for lawyers’ rights. Currently serving as a National Council Member of AILU and the Nellore District President, his campaign was rooted in “Value-Based Politics,” focusing on the integrity of the legal profession rather than mere electoral gains.
Upon the announcement of the results, celebrations erupted at the Nellore Court premises. “This victory belongs to every advocate who believes in justice and the dignity of our profession,” Mr. Ankaiah stated. He has pledged to prioritize the Advocates’ Welfare Fund, health insurance for members, and a structured stipend system for junior lawyers during his tenure.
The legal fraternity across the state has hailed his election as a step forward for the empowerment of the Bar.
