Sensitization Programme on Innovation Initiatives by State Government for Medical Fraternity at Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Medical Education Trust, Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, 17 February 2026: Under the visionary leadership of Shri Bhachhanidhi Pani, Municipal Commissioner, significant strides have been made toward strengthening the healthcare innovation and startup ecosystem. A comprehensive Sensitization Programme on Healthcare Innovation and the Translational Startup Ecosystem was conducted on 17 February 2026 at AMC NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad. The programme was jointly organized by i-Hub Gujarat and AMC MET by support of Shri Bharat Parmar, Dy Municipal Commissioner (Hospital) with the objective of promoting a culture of clinical innovation, translational research, and technology-driven entrepreneurship within the medical community.
Under the leadership & execution by Shri Kirankumar Vanaliya, Director, AMC-Medical Education Trust & Assistant Municipal Commissioner the event witnessed active participation from over 300 healthcare professionals, including clinicians, surgeons, academicians, postgraduate residents, and medical students. The session aimed to enhance awareness regarding innovation pathways in healthcare, including ideation, prototyping, validation, regulatory considerations, and commercialization.
The programme was graced by Dean AMC MET – Dr. Cherry Shah who addressed the gathering and underscored the critical role of clinician-led innovation in strengthening healthcare delivery systems. He emphasized the importance of integrating evidence-based medicine with biomedical innovation, digital health technologies, and indigenous medical device development to improve patient outcomes and healthcare accessibility.
CEO, Hiranmay Mahanta & Team i-Hub Gujarat delivered a detailed presentation on the state-supported innovation framework and incubation ecosystem, with specific focus on the Srujan Startup Seed Support Grant. The grant facilitates early-stage translational development by providing financial assistance for progression from proof-of-concept and functional prototype development to Minimum Viable Product (MVP) validation. The initiative, supported by i-Hub Gujarat under the aegis of the Education Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to accelerate technology readiness levels (TRL) and support commercialization of clinically relevant innovations.
As part of the knowledge-sharing segment, five Gujarat-based healthcare startups namely Metrophram Wellness, Iota Diagnostics, Salvo, AIM Biopsy & Thickness Skin Graft Dermatome Device presented case studies highlighting their product development lifecycle, clinical validation processes, regulatory pathways, and deployment outcomes. Their innovations spanned medical devices, digital health platforms, and technology-enabled healthcare solutions, demonstrating successful translation from discovery-to-patient-care translation.
The programme served as an interdisciplinary platform fostering dialogue between healthcare providers, innovators, and incubation agencies, thereby strengthening the ecosystem for clinician-entrepreneurs and translational research in Gujarat.
