Commuters in Arunachal Pradesh are set to face a temporary disruption as authorities have announced the closure of the Hoj–Potin road stretch near Kala Mati Point in Papum Pare district.
📅 Two-Day Closure for Construction Work
The road will remain closed on March 21 and 22 to facilitate crucial bridge construction activities. Officials stated that heavy machinery, including cranes, will be used to install RCC girders, requiring full occupation of both lanes and making traffic movement unsafe during this period.
⏰ Timings of Closure
Complete Traffic Block: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Road Reopens Daily: 5:10 PM to 8:50 AM
During the closure hours, no vehicles will be allowed to pass through the affected stretch to ensure public safety.
🚗 Alternate Routes Suggested
Travelers from districts such as Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, and Keyi Panyor are advised to take the alternate route via Kimin to avoid delays.
🏗️ Appeal for Public Cooperation
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and plan their journeys in advance. While the temporary closure may cause inconvenience, officials emphasized that the construction work is essential for improving long-term connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
Once completed, the new bridge is expected to enhance travel efficiency and safety for thousands of commuters across the state.
